Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Inaugurates 11th Makutano International Business Forum in Kinshasa
Kinshasa, November 18, 2025 - Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka inaugurated the 11th Makutano International Business Forum, a high-level event bringing together public decision-makers, investors, economic experts, and other stakeholders for a two-day discussion on the future of the Congolese economy.
The forum, themed "Contracts in Congo: Time to Choose," aims to establish structural guidelines to foster a more competitive, connected, and sovereign economy. Discussions focused on four key sectors: governance, mining, energy, and transportation, addressing both challenges and opportunities for economic growth.
The initiative, launched by Nicole Sulu, received strong support from the Prime Minister, who highlighted the importance of diversifying the Congolese economy and enhancing local transformation, particularly in the mining sector, to reduce dependency on raw exports and strengthen domestic value chains.
The forum is expected to produce actionable recommendations that will guide public policy, investment strategies, and regulatory frameworks, reinforcing the DRC’s drive toward economic sovereignty and sustainable development.
