Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga Receives New Patriarch of the Niaré
Bamako, February 17, 2026 - Prime Minister and Head of Government Major General Abdoulaye Maïga received Titi Niaré, the newly installed Patriarch of the Niaré, in Bamako on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Accompanied by a large delegation, Patriarch Niaré, who officially assumed his position on Saturday, February 7, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister.
Acknowledging Government Support
The visit was intended to express gratitude to the government for its ongoing support of traditional authorities, highlighting the importance of collaboration between state institutions and customary leadership in promoting social cohesion and cultural continuity.
Officials described the meeting as a symbolic reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to strengthening ties with traditional leaders across Mali.
