Oicha: Over a Thousand Police Officers Deployed to Secure the Holiday Season
Oicha, North Kivu - More than 1,000 officers from the Congolese National Police (PNC) were deployed on Monday, December 1, 2025, to Oicha, in the Beni territory, to bolster security in the rural commune and surrounding agricultural areas, which are regularly threatened by armed groups, ahead of the holiday season.
During a parade led by Provincial Commissioner General Dieudonné Makambo, the officers were tasked with protecting the population, securing property, and maintaining order.
The general urged residents to cooperate closely with law enforcement, emphasizing the need for collective action to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the holidays. He also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening security measures and promoting the National Fund for the Security of Civil Servants.
