Niger: Impersonator Arrested in Niamey
Niamey, December 15, 2025 - The Documents and Secrets Administration (ADS) of the Niger National Security Directorate, in collaboration with the “Loya Bastis” Regiment of the Niger National Movement (GNN), arrested an individual in Niamey on December 14 and 15, 2025 for impersonating a private first class, with the complicity of another soldier.
A specialized investigative team uncovered the fraud, focusing on the production of counterfeit military identity cards. During searches of the suspect's residence, authorities seized military equipment, computer devices, and cameras, highlighting the scale of the operation.
This arrest underscores the commitment of the ADS and the “Loya Bastis” Regiment to tracking down criminals, ensuring public safety, and safeguarding the security of the Republic.
