Niger Hosts Official Meeting Between President Tiani and Burkina Faso Special Envoy
NIAMEY, Niger - Saturday, December 6, 2025 - President Abdourahamane Tiani received Mr. Bazié Bassolma, President of the National Commission of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and Special Envoy of Burkina Faso, for an official discussion on strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation. Mr. Bassolma was accompanied by Colonel-Major Yelemou Ernest, Vice-President of the AES National Commission of Burkina Faso.
Mr. Bassolma delivered a message from His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, emphasizing shared priorities in regional collaboration. The meeting was attended by senior Nigerien officials, including H.E. Bakary Yaou Sangaré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigerians Abroad, Dr. Soumana Boubacar, Minister and Chief of Staff to the President, and Ambassador Illo Adani, Advisor for Strategic and Diplomatic Affairs and Chairman of the Nigerien National Commission for Economic and Social Affairs.
Discussions focused on strengthening coordination between Niger and Burkina Faso within the framework of the Alliance of Sahel States and advancing joint initiatives across economic, security, and social domains.
