New Year’s Greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs

Bamako, January 5, 2026 On Monday, January 5, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held its official New Year’s greetings ceremony for staff, addressed to His Excellency Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The ceremony included speeches by the President of the Association of Women in Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General of the Free Union of Foreign Affairs, and the Secretary General of the Ministry, followed by remarks and greetings from Minister Abdoulaye Diop. The event provided an opportunity to review the achievements of 2025 and to hold frank and constructive discussions on staff working conditions, paving the way for renewed commitment to strengthening Malian diplomacy in 2026. Minister Diop welcomed the results achieved through teamwork and paid tribute to diplomatic and consular staff, the women of the department, and retirees for their dedication, commitment, and patriotism, which have enhanced Mali’s international influence. He also addressed the improvement of working conditions and the effectiveness of diplomatic action, particularly through the updating of outdated documents to better respond to the country’s current challenges. In conclusion, Abdoulaye Diop urged staff to redouble their efforts with honor, dignity, and professionalism to meet the challenges of 2026 and further strengthen Malian diplomacy, extending his wishes for peace, happiness, and prosperity to all employees, their families, and the nation.
