Bamako, February 9, 2026 - As part of the 4th annual Justice Week, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Mamoudou Kassogué presented a consignment of solar equipment and office furniture to the National Human Rights Directorate (DNDH) on Monday, February 9, 2026. Valued at 33 million CFA francs and funded by the European Union’s Sahel-Mali mission (EUCAP), the support aims to provide the DNDH with energy independence, addressing frequent power outages that have hampered operations since its commissioning in September 2024. Abdoul Karim Diarra, National Director of Human Rights, highlighted the crucial importance of the donation, noting that the new solar energy systems will stabilize working conditions for staff and strengthen the department’s operational capacity. Minister Kassogué reaffirmed that the DNDH remains a key institution for implementing national human rights policy, ensuring transparent and responsible management of the new systems in support of the rule of law.
