National Assembly: Aimé Boji Elected President, Clotilde Mutita Becomes Deputy Rapporteur

The National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has elected Aimé Boji Sangara as the new President of the Lower House, following a vote held on Thursday, November 13, at the People’s Palace in Kinshasa. Boji secured 413 votes out of 423, succeeding Vital Kamerhe.

The interim president of the chamber, Jean-Claude Tshilumbayi, officially confirmed Boji’s election in line with the Assembly’s rules of procedure.

During the same plenary session, opposition lawmaker Clotilde Mutita Kalunga was elected Deputy Rapporteur of the Bureau. She received 389 votes out of 424, taking over from Dominique Munongo.
