Ministerial Meeting Finalizes Year II Roadmap for AES Confederation

Ouagadougou, February 26, 2026 - A ministerial delegation representing the AES Confederation convened in Ouagadougou on Thursday, February 26, 2026, to review and finalize the draft Year II Roadmap. The delegation was led by Lieutenant General Sadio Camara, Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and included: Madina Sissoko Dembélé, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Moussa Alassane Diallo, Minister of Industry and Trade Focus of the Meeting The meeting, attended by ministers responsible for the three strategic pillars of the AES Confederation, aimed to: Consolidate institutional and operational achievements Define future priorities for the Confederation Align the roadmap with security, political, and economic objectives Progress and Leadership During the opening ceremony, Heads of Delegation from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger highlighted the significant progress made since the Confederation’s establishment. They attributed these achievements to strengthened coordination and the shared vision of the member states, emphasizing the leadership of Presidents Ibrahim Traoré, Assimi Goïta, and Abdourahamane Tiani. The Year II Roadmap, which will be submitted for adoption by the Heads of State, is designed to sustainably strengthen integration, sovereignty, and solidarity among AES member countries, building on the momentum initiated during Mali’s inaugural presidency under President Assimi Goïta.
