Minister Mamoudou Kassogué Receives Canadian Chargé d’Affaires
Bamako, January 23, 2026 - The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, Mr. Mamoudou Kassogué, received Ms. Lee-Anne Hermann, Chargé d’affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Mali and Niger, in an official audience. The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperative relations between Mali and Canada, with discussions focusing on justice sector reforms, promotion and protection of human rights, and prospects for bilateral cooperation. Minister Kassogué commended the quality of the partnership between the two countries and expressed gratitude for Canada’s support in consolidating the rule of law and strengthening judicial institutions. For her part, Ms. Lee-Anne Hermann reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to supporting Mali’s initiatives to enhance justice, promote good governance, and uphold fundamental rights.
