Mali’s Justice Minister Commits to Stronger Dialogue with Magistrates’ Union

Bamako, June 19, 2026 - Mali's Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Mamoudou Kassogué, met with the newly elected leadership of the Free Union of Magistracy (SYLIMA), reaffirming his commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation with the country's magistrates.

The meeting brought together the ministry and the union's new executive office, which will serve a four-year term from 2026 to 2030. The delegation was led by SYLIMA President Issiaka Aguibou Diallo.

During the discussions, union representatives expressed their intention to work as a constructive partner of the Ministry of Justice and called for the establishment of a permanent consultation framework to enhance communication, coordination, and institutional cohesion.

Kassogué welcomed the union's commitment and pledged to maintain open and continuous dialogue. He also announced plans to expedite measures related to the deployment of judicial auditors and to provide an official headquarters for SYLIMA.

The meeting underscored ongoing efforts to strengthen social dialogue within Mali's justice sector and improve collaboration between judicial authorities and professional associations.
