Malian Government Equips 14 Vocational Training Centers with 2 Billion CFA Investment

Bamako, March 3, 2026 - The Malian government has provided new equipment worth 2 billion CFA francs to 14 vocational training centers across the country in an effort to strengthen technical education and boost employment opportunities.

The handover ceremony was presided over on Tuesday by Oumou Sall Seck, Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Vocational Training.

According to the ministry, the equipment-fully financed through the national budget-aims to enhance the operational capacity of vocational institutions and improve practical training for young people.

The beneficiary centers are located in Sénou, Missabougou, Kéniéba, Keleya, Fana, Dioïla, Tominian, Saye, Yorosso, Yangasso, Sikasso, Bougouni, Yanfolila, and Badougou Djoliba.

Authorities say the equipment will support training in a wide range of technical and professional fields, including metal construction, building electricity, masonry, building painting, refrigeration and air conditioning, wood carpentry, tiling, automotive and motorcycle mechanics, photovoltaic electricity, electronics, as well as textile-related trades such as cutting, sewing, and dyeing.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen vocational education and equip young Malians with practical skills aligned with labor market needs.
