Malian Government Engages Private Sector to Safeguard Economic Stability After April 25
BAMAKO, May 4, 2026 - Mali’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Moussa Alassane Diallo, held consultations with representatives of the private sector on Monday as part of efforts to preserve economic and social stability following the April 25 terrorist attacks.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mali and brought together trade associations, unions, professional organizations, senior ministry officials, and business leaders.
According to officials, the discussions aimed to strengthen dialogue between the government and economic stakeholders at a time marked by heightened security concerns and uncertainty.
At the opening of the meeting, Minister Diallo paid tribute to the civilian and military victims of the attacks, honoring what he described as their sacrifice for the nation.
He also called on economic actors to demonstrate calm, responsibility, and unity, stressing the important role of the private sector in maintaining social cohesion and economic resilience during periods of crisis.
Authorities emphasized the need for continued collaboration between public institutions and business communities to mitigate the economic impact of insecurity and sustain national stability.
