Mali’s Minister Meets Acting UNESCO Head to Explore Collaboration on Education
Bamako, March 12, 2026 - Oumou Sall Seck, Mali’s Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Vocational Training, received Ali-Mohamed Sinane, Acting Head of the UNESCO office in Mali, during a courtesy visit on Thursday.
The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation between the ministry and UNESCO, particularly in advancing education, culture, and vocational training initiatives.
During the audience, Sinane welcomed the government’s decision to designate 2026 as the “Year of Education and Culture”, highlighting the importance of national efforts to promote learning and cultural development.
Minister Sall Seck emphasized the priority that President of the Transition Assimi Goïta has placed on youth employability and vocational training, noting that these areas remain central to the government’s development agenda.
