Mali’s Justice Minister Meets Bar Association President to Strengthen Judicial Dialogue
Bamako, March 15, 2026 - Bamako, March 2026 - Mamoudou Kassogue, Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, met with Souleymane Soumountera, President of the Malian Bar Association, to discuss shared challenges and opportunities within Mali’s judicial system.
The meeting focused on key issues including access to justice, modernization of judicial procedures, and capacity building for legal stakeholders. Soumountera presented the Bar Association’s vision for the coming years, highlighting priorities such as lawyer training, professional ethics, and the integration of digital tools to enhance efficiency and transparency in the justice system.
Minister Kassogue commended the quality of the discussions and reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue with the Bar Association, emphasizing that cooperation is essential to strengthen the rule of law and safeguard citizens’ rights.
The meeting reflects a shared commitment between Mali’s judicial authorities and legal professionals to create a more efficient, accessible, and citizen-focused justice system.
