Mali’s CNT President Advocates Sovereignty at African Parliamentary Summit

Rabat, December 12-14, 2025 - Meanwhile, Malick Diaw, President of Mali’s National Transitional Council (CNT), took part in the 3rd Conference of Presidents of African Legislative Assemblies in Rabat, Morocco.

In his address, Diaw highlighted the long-standing historical ties between Mali and Morocco while denouncing what he described as a sustained media campaign against Mali. He called for accurate and responsible information to counter what he termed “economic and media terrorism.”

His participation underscores Mali’s intention to remain actively engaged in continental political dynamics and to strengthen pan-African cooperation, particularly in governance and institutional dialogue. Analysts note that while this sovereignist stance may reinforce alliances at the African level, it will need to be matched by greater transparency and internal reforms to address ongoing criticisms related to governance and accountability.
