Mali Reaffirms Sovereignty and Security at BAMEX 25
Bamako, November 10, 2025 - BAMAKO, Mali-On November 12, 2025, on the sidelines of the Bamako International Defense and Security Exhibition (BAMEX 25), His Excellency Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Mr. Alhamdou Ag Ilyène, Minister of Communication, Digital Economy, and Administrative Modernization, held a press conference attended by numerous national and international media outlets.
Organized under the auspices of the Director of BAMEX 25, the conference was part of the government's communication strategy to provide the press with reliable information, countering a hostile media campaign aimed at destabilizing Mali.
The ministers stressed that hosting this international exhibition in Bamako, with participation from ten African countries and other regions, sent a strong signal amid the current geopolitical context. The event also refuted misleading information circulating abroad about Mali and its capital.

Mali’s openness to balanced partnerships, based on new principles of public governance.
Minister Diop reaffirmed that Mali’s future is determined by Malians, not by foreign media or intelligence services, and emphasized a new paradigm of autonomous action, including modernization of the armed forces and strategic autonomy in defense and security matters.
In conclusion, the ministers affirmed that nothing will hinder Mali’s sovereign progress, driven by the determination of the highest authorities, the support of the Malian people, and partnerships within the ESA Confederation and with friendly nations.
