Mali Participates in 2nd Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference
Cairo, December 19-20, 2025 - Professor Bouréma Kansaye, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented Mali at the 2nd Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
During the conference, a mutual recognition agreement for diplomas was signed with Russia, and Minister Kansaye took part in a roundtable on trilateral cooperation, highlighting Mali’s efforts to diversify international partnerships and strengthen educational and scientific ties.
The engagement could attract investment in research and training, supporting national sovereignty objectives. However, analysts caution that without internal reforms, the impact of these agreements may remain limited given the ongoing challenges within Mali’s education sector in the Sahel.
