Mali | National Workshop on the Sustainability of Community Development
Bamako, January 16, 2026 - Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Reconciliation, Lieutenant General Ismaël Wagué, a national workshop on the sustainability of community development (CD) was held on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The workshop brought together representatives from ministries and technical bodies and aimed to lay the groundwork for the sustainable institutionalization of community development in Mali by establishing a consensual legal, institutional, financial, and operational framework involving state, technical, financial, and community stakeholders.
The event also provided an opportunity to share the achievements and impacts of the digital community development (DCD) approach through the PCRSS and MALIDENKO projects, examine dedicated digital tools, explore funding opportunities, and discuss mechanisms for integrating DCD into national budget frameworks and sectoral projects.
