Mali Launches Judicial Training Program to Strengthen Rule of Law

Bamako, April 7, 2026 - Mali has officially launched a new series of judicial training sessions aimed at strengthening the capacity and professionalism of actors within the country’s justice system.

The program was inaugurated by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, Mamoudou Kassogué, at the Me Demba Diallo National Institute for Judicial Training (INFJ). The ceremony was co-chaired by a representative of the Ambassador of the Netherlands and brought together judicial stakeholders, technical partners, and development actors.

According to INFJ Director General Dr. Toubaye Koné, the sessions mark the beginning of a broader capacity-building program for judicial personnel, with the first module focusing on the management of land disputes. Additional thematic training sessions are expected to follow in the coming months.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reaffirmed its support for judicial reforms in Mali, emphasizing its continued commitment to strengthening the rule of law and protecting fundamental rights through targeted training initiatives.

Minister Kassogué described the program as a key step in aligning judicial skills with the requirements of a modern, efficient, and credible justice system, stressing the importance of continuous professional development for all justice sector actors.
