Mali Holds Strategic Meeting on Securing National Supply Corridors
Bamako, May 14, 2026 - Mali’s Minister of Urban Planning, State Property, Housing, Territorial Development and Population, serving as interim minister for Transport and Infrastructure, chaired a high-level meeting with stakeholders from the transport sector to discuss the security of the country’s supply corridors.
The meeting was attended by the delegated minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs, military authorities, and representatives of Mali’s consular chambers.
Discussions focused primarily on strengthening the security of key national supply routes to ensure the smooth movement of goods and people across the country.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by Mali’s transitional authorities to improve safety along major road networks and facilitate transportation and mobility nationwide.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants recommended the establishment of a restricted commission tasked with meeting on a weekly basis to enhance coordination and monitor future actions related to corridor security.
