Mali: Government Delegation Visits SIAMA to Promote Culture and Crafts (December 1, 2025)
Bamako, December 1, 2025 - As part of the Year of Culture and ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural diplomacy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, accompanied by two members of the Government, visited the International Arts and Crafts Fair of Mali (SIAMA). The delegation was welcomed by Mamou Daffé, Minister of Crafts, Culture, Hospitality, and Tourism.
Held under the theme “Crafts: A Factor in Development and Safeguarding Our Cultural Identity,” this edition of SIAMA offers a unique platform to showcase the expertise of artisans from across the AES Confederation. The Fair highlights a rich diversity of creations, reflecting a vibrant cultural heritage and deeply rooted artistic traditions.
Government officials praised the creativity and innovation of the artisans, underscoring their crucial contribution to cultural preservation, local development, and peacebuilding. The showcased works demonstrate the vitality of a sector that plays a major role in both the national economy and cultural identity.
Open since November 27, SIAMA will run until December 7, 2025, at the Bamako Exhibition Center, attracting large crowds eager to celebrate Malian and Confederate culture.
