Mali and Morocco Deepen Diplomatic Cooperation Through Exchange Mission in Rabat
Rabat, March 31 - April 2, 2026 - Mali and Morocco have taken a further step toward strengthening bilateral relations following a diplomatic exchange mission held in Rabat, focused on capacity-building and institutional cooperation.
The Malian delegation, drawn from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was led by Mahamane Amadou Maïga, Chargé d’Affaires. The visit formed part of a broader initiative to promote the exchange of expertise and best practices in diplomacy.
During the mission, Malian officials held discussions with senior representatives of Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad. The talks were described as constructive and centered on enhancing diplomatic performance, strengthening institutional frameworks, and fostering closer collaboration.
Key Moroccan institutions participated in the exchange, including the Moroccan Institute for Diplomatic Training, Research, and Studies, the Directorate of Public Diplomacy and Non-State Actors, and the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation. These engagements provided a platform for sharing experiences in diplomatic training, public diplomacy strategies, and international cooperation mechanisms.
The mission reflects ongoing efforts by Mali and Morocco to deepen their partnership, with a particular focus on building institutional capacity and expanding cooperation in key areas of diplomacy.
