Mali and China Seek to Deepen Cooperation in the Justice Sector
Bamako, June 19, 2026 - Mali and China have taken steps toward strengthening judicial cooperation following talks between Mali's Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Mamoudou Kassogué, and China's Ambassador to Mali, Li Xiang, in Bamako.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the justice sector, with discussions covering the exchange of judicial expertise and efforts to modernize legal and judicial institutions.
During the talks, Ambassador Li reaffirmed China's commitment to respecting Mali's sovereignty and its system of governance, while both sides expressed interest in enhancing collaboration through their broader strategic partnership.
The discussions reflect ongoing efforts by Mali and China to deepen bilateral relations across institutional and governance sectors, including justice and legal cooperation.
