Mali and Cameroon Pledge to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation After Diplomatic Accreditation
Yaoundé, April 8, 2026 - Mali and Cameroon have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cooperative relations following the presentation of credentials by Mali’s new ambassador in Yaoundé. On behalf of President Paul Biya, Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, received the Letters of Credence from Nina Oualet Intallou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mali, resident in Libreville. Following the formal ceremony, the Malian diplomat held discussions with the Cameroonian foreign minister, during which she conveyed greetings from Mali’s highest authorities and reiterated her commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Both sides highlighted the long-standing historical and cultural ties linking Bamako and Yaoundé, stressing the importance of preserving and expanding this partnership through renewed cooperation frameworks. The two parties also called for increased high-level exchanges, revitalized institutional cooperation mechanisms, and stronger people-to-people engagement, emphasizing solidarity and shared interests as the foundation of future relations.
