Liberation of High-Profile Hostages in Niger
NIAMEY, Niger - A significant security and diplomatic achievement was marked on Sunday, November 9, 2025, with the liberation of the Prefect of Bilma, Commandant Amadou Torda, and four collaborators, who had been abducted in the Dirkou area in June 2024.
The group safely arrived in Niamey, where they were warmly received by General of Division Mohamed Toumba, Minister of State for the Interior.
