By Amina Kabasele2 min readFrançais

Kinshasa, DRC - Staff at Martyrs Stadium staged a protest on Tuesday, November 25, demanding thirteen years of unpaid salaries, estimated at 60,000 Congolese francs (US$26) per person.

Protesters gathered at both Martyrs Stadium and Tata Raphaël Stadium, where they burned tires, vandalized archives, and erected barricades. The unrest disrupted several activities at the sports facilities, including two LINAFOOT matches scheduled for Wednesday, November 26: OC Renaissance vs. AS Maniema Union and AS Vita Club vs. Anges Verts.

Authorities have yet to respond, leaving employees frustrated and the sports schedule in disarray.
