Kinshasa: Life Sentence Sought in Rawbank Robbery Trial
Kinshasa-Gombe, November 18, 2025 - During the trial of the foiled October 16 robbery at Rawbank’s Victoire branch, prosecutors asked the military court to sentence Honorine Porsche, alleged mastermind, to life imprisonment. Her four co-defendants face the death penalty.
Rawbank and the Congolese state are seeking $5 million and $10 million in damages, respectively. Porsche’s defense team has contested the proceedings, citing irregularities, and plans to present these arguments during the closing statements. The hearings continued on November 19 with final arguments before the court delivers its verdict.
