Kinshasa: Activists Launch “Front for the Fourth Republic” to Drive Citizen-Led Constitutional Reform
Kinshasa, October 25, 2025 - Congolese activists launched the “Front for the Fourth Republic” in Kinshasa, a citizen-driven initiative aimed at promoting constitutional reform tailored to the country’s cultural and social realities.
Dady Tshisuaka, one of the movement’s founders, explained that the initiative seeks to collect over one million signatures in line with Article 218 of the Constitution, with the goal of proposing a revision that would transition the nation from the Third to the Fourth Republic.
Described by its organizers as a non-political effort, the movement emphasizes returning power to the people and establishing citizen oversight mechanisms to foster sustainable development and strengthen good governance. The initiative signals growing civic engagement in shaping the country’s political and institutional future.
