Kasai-Central: Ministry of Infrastructure Highlights Progress on Kalamba-Mbuji Road
Kinshasa, October 24, 2025 - Officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works conducted an inspection of the Kalamba-Mbuji road modernization project on October 29, 2025, and praised the progress made on the first 60 kilometers, now reportedly passable at high speeds.
Junior Nemba, advisor to the ministry, noted that while heavy rainfall has caused some delays, the contractor continues to adhere closely to quality standards and project timelines.
The Kalamba-Mbuji road, highly anticipated by local communities, is set to open up the region, creating a strategic economic corridor linking Kananga to Angola’s Lobito port. Authorities emphasized that the project is expected to bolster cross-border trade and drive local economic development, offering new opportunities for businesses and residents alike.
