Kagame And Mbeki Discuss Governance After Kigali Forum
Kigali, August 26, 2026 - President Paul Kagame met former South African President Thabo Mbeki in Kigali after Mbeki attended the Africa Mindset Reset Forum, underscoring Rwanda's continued emphasis on governance as a driver of development.
The two leaders discussed the forum's objectives and the role of good governance in shifting political and development mindsets across Africa.
Kagame told the forum that Africa continues to face major challenges but has also recorded progress in several areas. He framed governance as central to sustaining that progress and advancing the continent's development agenda.
