Improving the Quality of Education Through Sharing Best Practices
Niamey, December 3, 2025 - The Ministry of National Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages opened a three-day workshop dedicated to sharing best practices from the “Sahel” educational project at the Espace Soleil d’Afrique. Deputy Secretary General Alhaji Idi Abdou underscored the importance of professional learning communities for teachers, noting their essential role in improving educational outcomes despite persistent security challenges and limited resources.
Participants examined detailed case studies from the project’s implementation regions, which highlighted measurable progress in student retention and learning achievement through locally adapted teaching methodologies. Technical discussions focused on scaling up the most effective interventions and integrating digital learning tools to help mitigate teacher shortages in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
