Haut-Lomami: Jean Tayari Elected President of Provincial Assembly, Idriss Nsenga Becomes Treasurer
Kinshasa, November 20, 2025 - The Haut-Lomami Provincial Assembly finalized its leadership on Thursday, November 27, 2025, electing Jean Tayari as president and Idriss Nsenga as treasurer, both representing the Sacred Union party.
This renewal follows the removal of their predecessors a month earlier, who were accused of embezzling salaries meant for provincial deputies, parliamentary assistants, and administrative staff for the months of March 2024 and May 2025, allegations detailed in a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior.
Observers consider this election a significant step toward reinforcing governance and institutional stability in Haut-Lomami.
