Free Annual Medical Examination for Retirees: 2025 Edition Review Workshop

Ouagadougou, November 27, 2025 - The National Organizing Committee for the free annual medical examination for retirees and their surviving spouses, jointly led by CARFO and CNSS, held a review workshop this Thursday in Ouagadougou. The meeting brought together members of the national and regional committees to:

Present the activity and financial reports of the 11th edition

Evaluate results achieved to improve future campaigns

Representing the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Service, the Director General of Social Protection, Oumarou Sawadogo, noted that the 2025 edition, despite some challenges, was conducted satisfactorily. He reported that no major incidents disrupted the activities, reflecting the commitment and professionalism of field teams.

Mr. Sawadogo highlighted the importance of this initiative, stressing that it allows retirees and their surviving spouses to benefit from an essential annual preventive health check-up. He underscored the collective responsibility to ensure that elderly individuals receive support that respects their dignity, particularly in health and well-being.

Finally, he invited participants to formulate realistic and constructive proposals to enhance the effectiveness of future editions. Through this initiative, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to guaranteeing strengthened social protection for retirees across Burkina Faso.
