First Phase of Recruitment Exam for Prison and Juvenile Justice Officers Launched

Bamako, February 7, 2026 - The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, Mamoudou Kassogué, officially launched the first phase of the recruitment examination for prison and juvenile justice officers at the Faculty of Private Law (FDPRI) in Badalabougou, known as the hill of knowledge.

This session saw 4,403 candidates registered for 200 available positions, highlighting the growing appeal of careers in the judicial and correctional system.

The examination began with a general knowledge test, personally administered by the Minister. The test focused on the importance of work in achieving independence, a theme reflecting both civic values and the country’s current socio-economic challenges.

Addressing the candidates, Minister Kassogué assured them of the transparency, fairness, and credibility of the recruitment process, stressing that the competition would be based solely on merit, skills, and equal opportunity.

The recruitment drive forms part of a broader initiative to strengthen the prison service and juvenile justice system, aimed at improving security, prison management, and the social reintegration of individuals under judicial supervision, in line with directives from the transitional authorities.
