EU Launches €962,000 Civil Society Grants Programme in Djibouti

Djibouti, April 1, 2026 - The European Commission has launched the “Djibouti Civil Society Grants 2026” initiative, aimed at strengthening democratic governance, inclusive development, and the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the country. Implemented under the Commission’s thematic programme for civil society, the initiative seeks to empower local and international CSOs as independent actors in governance and public policy processes. The programme emphasizes institutional capacity-building, inclusive participation, and socio-economic resilience. With a total budget of €962,000, the grants will support projects designed to enhance civil society engagement in decision-making and regional development planning.
