Employment Promotion and Economic Diversification Initiatives Expand
DIFFA, Niger - November 11 - The National Employment Promotion Agency (ANPE) has launched an ambitious cosmetic production training program for 60 women in the Diffa region, marking a new step in national efforts to strengthen economic resilience in areas affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
The six-week initiative provides technical training, business management skills, and market access support, with participants set to receive starter kits enabling them to establish their own micro-enterprises upon completion.
Authorities describe the program as a key component of the government's broader strategy to combat youth vulnerability and reduce susceptibility to extremist recruitment through practical economic empowerment and diversification of local income sources.
