On Monday, November 3, 2025, the Minister of National Education, Literacy, and Promotion of National Languages, Dr. Elisabeth Shérif, officially launched the “One Week, One School” initiative at Lycée Kassaï in Niamey. That same day, the Route Filingue 10 Primary School, located in the Niamey 2000 district, inaugurated new facilities co-financed by UNICEF and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The 203 million CFA Franc project includes 14 equipped classrooms, sanitary facilities, administrative offices, and a secure perimeter fence, providing an improved learning environment for more than 700 pupils. The initiative was hailed as a model of effective international cooperation aligned with Niger’s education refoundation priorities.
