Drone Strike at Chad Border Crossing Kills Three, Injures Dozens

Geneina, April 15, 2026 - At least three people were killed and dozens injured in a drone strike targeting a border crossing in West Darfur, as Sudan’s conflict continues to spill across strategic transit routes.

According to local activists and emergency response groups, the strike hit the Adukong crossing near the Chad border, killing three porters and injuring numerous workers, many of them reportedly Chadian nationals. The attack also caused damage to civilian vehicles, food supplies, and fuel stocks.

The incident is part of an intensifying aerial campaign by Sudanese armed forces across the Darfur region, much of which remains under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Recent strikes have targeted a range of locations, including markets, police stations, and facilities allegedly used by armed groups.

Military authorities maintain that the operations are aimed at degrading RSF capabilities, including the disruption of supply lines such as fuel shipments and cross-border logistics networks.

Local coordination groups reported that the Adukong crossing has been struck multiple times in recent days. Additional drone strikes were also reported in nearby areas, including villages north and east of Geneina, with claims that civilian sites were affected.
