Kinshasa, DRC - The Congolese government has implemented a new $30 tax on all international flights, both arrivals and departures, in addition to the existing Go-Pass fee. The announcement follows a partnership signed on October 18, 2025, with U.S.-based Securiport LLC, a company specializing in securing transportation infrastructure.

Under the agreement, 15% of the revenue will go to the Congolese state, while 85% will fund the private partner’s implementation of modern security systems designed to prevent document fraud and counter transnational threats.

Officials, including Jacquemain Shabani and Jean-Pierre Bemba, said the initiative aims to strengthen border controls and bring the DRC’s aviation security in line with international standards. With the new tax, total airport fees for a round-trip international flight now reach $115.
