DRC Government Suspends "Save the DRC" Movement Linked to Joseph Kabila

Kinshasa - On Monday, December 1, 2025, the Congolese government suspended all activities of the "Save the DRC" movement, created in October in Nairobi at the instigation of former president Joseph Kabila.

Governors received instructions to strictly enforce this measure under penalty of sanctions, according to a telegram from Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior Jacquemain Shabani.

The ban, described as a "diversion" by Ferdinand Kambere, deputy permanent secretary of the PPRD, comes amid the platform’s opposition to the Kinshasa-led negotiations in Doha and Washington, which it considers a threat to national sovereignty.

This decision follows the suspension of the PPRD, confirmed on October 27, 2025, by the High Court of Kinshasa-Gombe, for "complicity with the AFC/M23 rebellion".
