By Sarah Ndaya2 min readFrançais

Kinshasa, DRC - The Congolese government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring equitable access to decent employment for all young people. Minister of Entrepreneurship, Justin Kalumba, made this declaration on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, during a joint press conference with the Minister of Communication and Media.

Kalumba announced that the National Employment Office will implement a skills-based recruitment system, replacing practices previously influenced by nepotism, tribalism, or other forms of favoritism. This reform is designed to strengthen transparency, promote fairness in the labor market, and provide every young Congolese citizen with genuine opportunities to build a sustainable professional future.

The announcement underscores the government's broader efforts to empower youth, improve employment governance, and align labor practices with principles of meritocracy and equal opportunity across the DRC.
