DRC Foreign Exchange Reserves Reach Nearly $7.4 Billion
Kinshasa - Addressing Parliament on December 8, 2025, President Félix Tshisekedi announced that the Democratic Republic of Congo's foreign exchange reserves had reached nearly $7.4 billion, equivalent to roughly three months of essential imports.
The President described this level as a sign of confidence and resilience in the Congolese economy, despite global market volatility. This increase in reserves is intended to strengthen the country's capacity to withstand external shocks and reassure economic partners, while also emphasizing the importance of economic diversification to reduce dependence on mining exports.
