DRC: Félix Tshisekedi expected in Lubumbashi next week
Kinshasa, October 1, 2025 - The President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, is expected in Lubumbashi, the capital of Haut-Katanga province, next week. The announcement was made on 10 October 2025 by the interim governor, Martin Kazembe Shula, during an extended meeting of the Provincial Security Council.
The Head of State will participate in the fifth edition of Congolese Tourism Week, scheduled for 13 to 17 October. He will also receive the insignia of Grand Chancellor of the Universities and Higher Education Institutions of the Democratic Republic of Congo during an official ceremony at the University of Lubumbashi (UNILU).
The provincial authorities have already begun the necessary preparations to host this major event.
