DRC-EU: European Union announces €180 million in funding for the DRC
Kinshasa, October 9, 2025 - In Brussels, the European Union announced €180 million in funding to support the Democratic Republic of Congo in the energy, transport, biodiversity and sustainable mining sectors. The announcement was made by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, during a meeting with Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi on the sidelines of the second Global Gateway Forum.
This funding is part of the European initiative to strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.
