DRC: delivery of equipment to the INS for the launch of the RGPH2 mapping phase

On 9 October 2025, the Ministry of Planning delivered a set of IT equipment to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) to initiate the mapping phase of the Second General Population and Housing Census (RGPH2) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The handover was carried out by Daniel Epembe, Secretary General of the Ministry, on behalf of Minister of State Guylain Nyembo, in the presence of the Director General of the INS, Elysée Chovu.

The equipment includes smartphones for field operations, as well as desktop and laptop computers, to collect reliable data for national planning. This initiative aims to provide the country with a solid demographic and socio-economic database, which will serve as a reference for guiding public policies in a territorialised, inclusive and effective manner, thereby strengthening the State's capacity to meet the needs of its populations.
