DRC and Japan sign USD 2.6 million food aid agreement
Kinshasa, October 1, 2025 - Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner signed an agreement with the Japanese government for USD 2.6 million in food aid. This assistance, provided in the form of Thai rice, is part of the 2025 fiscal year and aims to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable Congolese populations.
The ceremony was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to the DRC, Ogawa Hidetoshi, and representatives of the Japanese Ministry of Planning and the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS). This programme reflects Japan's commitment to human security and sustainable development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
