Doha Process: New round of talks postponed until next week
Kinshasa, September 30, 2025 - The new round of negotiations between the Congolese government and the AFC/M23 rebellion, initially scheduled for this week in Doha, has been postponed until next week. The aim of the postponement is to finalise the ceasefire mechanism and move towards a comprehensive peace agreement.
The talks, mediated by Qatar, will build on the progress made in previous rounds and the signing of the Declaration of Principles in July. International partners will also participate in the talks, underscoring regional and global support for the process, while Qatar will continue to provide coordination and logistical support for the discussions.
