Diplomatic Engagements and International Partnerships

Niamey, November 10, 2025 - Even as President Tiani toured the regions, the government continued to advance its diplomatic agenda in the capital. On Wednesday, November 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, received copies of credentials from newly appointed representatives of Germany, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The ceremony signaled Niger’s intent to maintain-though on its own terms-a calibrated engagement with both traditional allies and multilateral institutions.

On the same day, Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine held talks with an AfDB delegation led by Country Representative Mamadou Tangara. Discussions centered on development financing and the continuation of key programs, reflecting the government’s efforts to balance domestic restructuring with sustained international cooperation.
