Ouagadougou, December 8, 2025 - The Ministry of Economy and Finance has stepped up efforts to promote employee health by organizing an HIV/AIDS and syphilis awareness and screening campaign at the Institute of Public Finance of Burkina Faso.

The initiative, held on Friday, December 5, was led by the ministry’s Human Resources Department in partnership with the SOS Sang association and the Directorate General of Taxes. It forms part of the ministry’s broader strategy to contribute actively to the fight against major epidemic diseases and to safeguard the well-being of its workforce.

During the campaign, participants took part in awareness sessions focusing on the modes of transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS and syphilis. Free, anonymous, and confidential testing services were also provided on site, allowing staff to learn their serological status in a secure and supportive environment.

Organizers emphasized the importance of early screening, highlighting that knowing one’s health status is essential for timely and effective medical care. The event was conducted under the slogan “Getting tested is a good start for your health.”

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Economy and Finance reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening prevention and awareness actions, while encouraging responsible health practices among public sector employees.
